By Dan Jeanes | Metro Voice Music Editor

For a limited time (I assume), Jars of Clay has an E.P. available for free at Noisetrade.com! Eastside Manor Sessions EP was presented as a sort of sampler of the JoC’s new release, Inland.

jars-coverPresented with stripped-down versions of a few new songs, there are also live renditions of songs the band has become known for (“Dead Man (Carry Me),” for one). They also have a few other offerings on there, including a sort-of best of collection, called Gather and Build. If you are technologically savvy and enjoy some good, alternative music, this would be one way to go without spending too much.

The newest movie about the life of Jesus, “Son of God,” has a trailer showcasing For King and Country’s song “Crave.” Selected as the “New Artist of the Year,” For King and Country will also have their song “Baby Boy” included on the inspired CD, SON OF GOD: Music Inspired by the Epic Motion Picture. The artists are currently on tour with Casting Crowns. Speaking of which, For King and Country and Casting Crowns will be performing at the Independence Events Center on April 3. In other concert news, David Phelps (known both for his work with the Gaither Vocal Band as well as a successful solo career) will be performing at Graceway Church in Kansas City on March 7. For uplifting music, an inspirational message, and some great voices, this would be the show to see in April. For more information, please visit www.thecollingsworthfamily.com.
