Kansas Christian College is growing and leaders say it’s an answer to prayer and hard work.
“We’ve waited a long time for this,” said Chad Pollard, Kansas Christian College’s (KCC) vice president of operations. “We’ve waited a long time for the need to purchase more dorm furniture and to have enrollment applications being submitted at a pace that makes it difficult to manage. We’ve waited, prayed, believed, worked hard and taken risks. We’ve done our best to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, and the results are rewarding.”

In 2015, what was then Kansas City College and Bible School was in danger. After more than 75 years of serving as a ministry training school at the corner of 74th and Metcalf in Overland Park, the school had the equivalent of just 18 full-time students. Changes had to be made if the school was to continue equipping students for a “lifetime of Kingdom service.”
Under the leadership of President Delbert Scott and a newly formed team of administrators, the decision was made to change the name to the simpler Kansas Christian College to build a new website, to launch online education programs and to set plans in motion for a revived athletics program.
Most of the changes were completed during the summer of 2015, and just one year later, KCC is a rejuvenated campus. Seventy-six full-time traditional students began their semester at KCC this August, along with nearly 40 students enrolled via KCC Online. Even more students are expected as new online cohorts begin throughout the academic year.
“To see what God has done in just one year is absolutely amazing,” said Pollard, who graduated from KCC(BS) in 2003. “I love my alma mater, and it played a major role in my spiritual formation. To see it brimming with students again is amazing, and I’m so thankful I get to be part of training a new generation of students to impact the world for Christ.”
