Rally at Kansas Capitol to support religious freedom

A coalition of religious groups from across Kansas will hold a rally on Feb. 17, from Noon to 1pm. The Rally for Religious Freedom will be held inside the Kansas State Capitol Building, in the 2nd Floor Rotunda area.  Organizers say a large turnout is needed to demonstrate to Kansas lawmakers that support for religious freedom in Kansas is strong.  Speakers include Ryan Anderson of the Heritage Foundation, one of the “Houston Five” pastors whose sermons were subpoenaed, the owner of a flower shop being prosecuted for declining to participate in a same-sex wedding ceremony, the President of the March for Life, and Governor Sam Brownback.

Free parking for the Rally has been moved to Judicial Center Lot #4 at the corner of Topeka Blvd. and 12th Street.  This lot is within walking distance of the Capitol. Please visit http://www.kscathconf.org/rally and the Kansas Catholic Conference Facebook page for maps and more info on the speakers. Remember that all rally participants must pass through security at the 8th Ave. and Van Buren Visitor’s Entrance so arrive early.
