Celebrate Rosh HaShanah as the event begins in the evening (erev). It is also known at the Feast of Trumpets or the Day of the Sounding of the Shofar. The shofar blast is a call to judgment and self- examination, which is the main theme of the holiday. This is the first of several events known in Judaism as the High Holidays.
