Stephanie Varone never tires of performing the National Anthem at stadiums across the country.

“I love performing, especially when people feel emotion from my performances,” said Varone, a Plymouth, Minnesota resident who grew up in Kansas City. “I feel so blessed and honored that I am able represent the Anthem often. My goal is to give people goosebumps every time I sing.”

Since her first anthem performance as a teen at a Kansas City Royals game in 1987, Varone has belted the National and Canadian anthems at hundreds of venues, including Wrigley Field, Fenway Park, Target Field, Progressive Field, U.S. Bank Stadium and Tropicana Field.

On Aug. 24, she’ll be singing the Anthem again at Kauffman Stadium for the first time since 1987, then attending her Grandview High School reunion the next day.

“Singing is a gift that I was given, and I truly enjoy sharing my voice with as many people as I can.” Varone said.

Varone has also graced the stage at the Grand Ole Opry and has been featured on NBC and TNN. She has an affinity for country, pop, classic rock and blues.

Varone is the lead singer for the band Stephanie V ‘n Headliner, which currently has an 80’s cover project and performs throughout the Midwest. They are also the residential opening act and backup band for some of the most legendary artists in the world, including Randall Hall of Lynyrd Skynrd, John Cafferty of the Beaver Brown Band, Fran Cosmo and Barry Goudreau of Boston, Joey Molland of Badfinger, and many more.

She opened for Tim McGraw on July 28, on Lake Minnetonka for a Folds of Honor charity event. Folds of Honor is a nonprofit that provides scholarships to the spouses and children of U.S. service members killed or severely disabled in the line of duty.

Varone has strong ties to the military. Her late grandfather served in World War II, and her father, a Vietnam Army veteran, was awarded two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. Her oldest son is an Air Force veteran who served in Afghanistan, and her youngest son currently serves in the Air Force stationed in Spokane, Washington.

Varone said she brings the same passion to her role as a Senior Account Executive at Burwood Group, an IT consulting and integration firm. She was the first employee hired by Burwood to open up the Minneapolis market last year, and has a unique approach to IT sales.

“I treat my relationships in business with compassion, commitment, and determination, the same way I treat my singing career,” Varone said. “I’ve enjoyed success in both because of that.”
