McCaskill heads to Beverly Hills for cash

On the heels of election polls that show her trailing badly, Missouri Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill’s re-election campaign is heading to the nation’s liberal bastion, Beverly Hills, to pick up some cash.

Former President Barack Obama will help fundraise at the planned May event. An Obama aide told the St. Louis Post Dispatch newspaper that McCaskill is the first individual candidate he’s raising money for this cycle.

In the earlier poll only two other incumbent Senate Democrats up for reelection fared worse than McCaskill – Joe Manchin of West Virginia (43%-52%) and John Tester of Montana (42%-55%).  Both men were polled against a generic Republican as no formidable GOP candidate has surfaced in either state.

But what McCaskill lacks in poll numbers, she doesn’t in campaign cash.

She told the newspaper that the fundraiser also is for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. She said it was planned based on Obama’s schedule and noted that out-of-state fundraising is not unusual in U.S. Senate races.

While McCaskill campaigns as a centrist, she continues to reap millions in support from George Soros. Soros is one of the world’s largest donors to radical left-wing nonprofit organizations and politicians worldwide. Soros has given hundreds of millions of dollars to nearly 5,000 liberal and ultra-left organizations campaigning for a more powerful role in international affairs for the United Nations, population control, socialism, and the defeat of Republicans and election of Democrats in the U.S. Soros also funds the radical extremist group antifa. The group, known for anarchist activities including violent demonstration to shut down conservatives and Christians on college campuses, has grown in strength based on support from many democrats.

Top Republican challenger Attorney General Josh Hawley in an interview with The Associated Press Wednesday noted the Beverly Hills campaign stop while criticizing McCaskill as out of step with working-class and middle-class voters.
