Opportunity to Hear Botswana Ambassador to U.S. Friday

Heritage Christian Academy welcomes the Ambassador of Botswana — February 7, 2014

Rick Lukianuk, Heritage Christian Academy Chief Administrator

Heritage Christian Academy will host Tebeleo Mazile Seretse, Ambassador of the Republic of Botswana to the United States for a special assembly on Friday, Feb. 7 at 9:00am at the Olathe campus. Heritage Christian Academy is a Christ-centered pre-k through grade 12 college preparatory school with campuses in Olathe and Overland Park.

The Ambassador will be speaking about education and business in Botswana as well as how the Christian church is growing in Africa. When it gained independence from the United Kingdom in 1966, Botswana was one of the poorest countries in Africa. Botswana is now one of the fastest-growing economies in the world, with the fourth largest gross national income in Africa, and a fast-growing standard of living.

“This is a rare opportunity to allow our students to take an important step of understanding our global market place”, said Rick Lukianuk, HCA Chief Administrator. “This assembly represents our active participation on an international stage and our ardent desire to foster our student’s conceptual grasp of economics, politics, culture and faith.”

According to Lukianuk, HCA is also planning to establish a cultural and academic exchange with a sister school in Botswana which allows the academy’s interaction with Botswana to be an ongoing process rather than a one time occasion.
