The Isaacs will bring their popular concert tour to the Kansas City area April 13, 7 P.M. at Kansas Christian College, 74th and Metcalf Ave., Overland Park. Tickets available HERE.
Based in Hendersonville, Tenn., the group is a multi-award winning family featuring mother, Lilly Isaacs, and her children, Ben Isaacs, Sonya Isaacs Yeary and Rebecca Isaacs Bowman. They frequently appear at the Grand Ole Opry, are active members on the Gaither Homecoming videos and concert series, and travel internationally throughout the year to perform.
The band has a unique style that blends tight family harmony with contemporary acoustic instrumentation. Their musical style has been influenced by many genres including bluegrass, rhythm and blues, folk, country, contemporary, acoustic and southern gospel. They’ve even gathered a loyal following among younger people who like the acoustic styling.
“My husband at the time, when we were married, we started singing together,” said Lily Isaacs. “As our children were born, they were extremely talented, and it just sort of happened.”
Working with her children is something she enjoys doing.

“It’s amazing because I’m their biggest fan. I admire their talent,” she said. “I’m proud to be on stage with them every night.”
The Isaacs is an acoustic band that can’t be categorized into one genre of gospel music. They perform a combination of country, bluegrass, and original pop music .
“Just wanting to proclaim the name of Jesus to the world, and let people know there’s hope out there when you trust God,” Lily Isaacs said.
They’ve have released about 30 projects including CDs and DVDs over the years. Lily Isaacs recently wrote an autobiography that was released last year. During the group’s 38 years of performing gospel music, they have won more than eight Dove Awards and received several Grammy nominations. They have performed at the Dove Awards, the CMA Fan Fest, Carnegie Hall, and at many professional sporting events.
Lily said her children have each won individual awards for producing and songwriting.
