October 20, 1954 – December 22, 2021

Steven Keith Widaman, 67, of Sturgeon, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Boone Hospital in Columbia.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Monday, December 27, 2021, at Pickering Funeral Home in Mexico, with Rev. Bob Stanford officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 1 until service time at the funeral home.

Steve was born Oct. 20, 1954, in Mexico, the son of Ellery and Virginia (Scherer) Widaman. On June 20, 1998, in Hallsville, he and Linda were married.

He was a 1973 graduate of Mexico Senior High School and attended Central Missouri State University to major in art.

Steve retired on Jan. 1, 2010, after 31 years with Missouri Department of Transportation. He was shop foreman for the Harrisburg Highway Department Shed.

He loved being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. His regular routine included coffee with friends. He and Linda enjoyed camping with their friends in Warsaw. Steve can best be described as a very kind soul that always did his best to be a gentleman.

In addition to his wife Linda, survivors include one son, Jacob Widaman (Willa), of Moberly; three daughters, Ashley Widaman, of Moberly, Kalea Widaman, of Moberly, and Rachel Widaman (Kevin), of Columbia; three brothers, Greg Widaman (Karen), of Mexico, Kevin Widaman (Rachel), of Columbia, and Dwight Widaman (Anita), of Pleasant Hill, Mo.; one sister, Patricia Gipson, of Pleasant Hill, Mo.; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one grandson.

Memorials may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
