A group of 30 youths from 13 countries on five continents will stop in Kansas City on their 3,300-mile bicycle journey across the United States. Their mission: to call attention to plight of the orphaned children of people persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party for their spiritual beliefs. A rally commemorating their arrival will be held this Saturday, June 27, at the J.C. Nichols fountain on the Country Club Plaza.
These youths, teenagers and preteens, call themselves Global Ambassadors support freedom of belief. They are from the USA, Canada, Argentina, Peru, Iran, Germany, Austria, Israel, India, Singapore, Hong Kong, Tanzania, Russia, Peru, France, Hungary, and Czechoslovakia.
Since its introduction, Falun Gong (which is not a religion) has been practiced by over 100 million people in China and all over the world to achieve good health and a peaceful state of mind.
Ride 2 Freedom is not only calling attention to the plight of these children, but also shining light upon the situation in China, and the best way to alleviate it. The cycling journey will end in Washington D.C. where the riders will assist a diplomatic rescue mission which will conclude in Beijing, China.
