After more than a decade, Dove Award-winning vocalist Lynda Randle has released a new Christmas album. Dropped mid-October, “White Christmas” is an 11-song collection from the Gaither Gospel Series.
The album sports some holiday classics, including “Go Tell It On the Mountain,” “White Christmas” (both with her brother, and Grammy Winning singer, Michael Tait), and “Do You Hear What I Hear?” The album is co-produced with Jason Clark.

For King & Country has also released their offering of Christmas music this year, with an album aiming to get “back to the heart of Christmas.” Instead of going for the commonly upbeat and fun Christmas album, however, for King & Country opted for a more traditional approach, presenting their versions of classics including “Joy To The World,” “Silent Night,” “O Come All Ye Faithful” and “Angels We Have Heard On High.”
The award-winning pair have released “A Drummer Boy Christmas,” which includes their take on “Little Drummer Boy,” a rendition that has a largely positive response after performing their version of the song during “CMA Country Christmas.” It’s a great video and well worth checking out.
Likewise, our friends from the Island of Ireland, Rend Collective, dropped a new Christmas album titled A Jolly Irish Christmas Vol. 2. In a newsletter released earlier this year, the group mentioned they knew it was a bit early to talk about Christmas music, but “[we] think it’s safe to say nothing about this year has been ‘normal.’ The way we see it, we could all do with Christmas cheer coming a bit early,”
This is the first Christmas album for the group in six years, and this year’s seemed like the right time to present (get it?) something they hoped would bring more cheer to the world. Including tracks such as “The First Noel”, “Christmas In Killarney,” (of course!), and “Little Drummer Boy (featuring We Are Messengers), the album also boasts new tracks and their own special renditions of other classics. The collection also features additional special guests We The Kingdom, Ellie Holcomb, and Keith and Kristyn Getty.
Maverick City Music has released a Christmas album focused on the worship of our Lord and Savior. “Maverick City Christmas” mixes Gospel style and Contemporary form, taking traditional Christmas hymns and adding choruses and expanding the style. Their rendition of a “Joyful Joyful We Adore Thee / Angels We Have Heard on High” medley expresses the depth of the meaning of the songs, while the vocals on “O Come Let Us Adore Him” will very likely move you to tears. Powerful stuff. Other tracks include “O Holy Night,” “Is He Worthy / Agnus Dei / We Fall Down,” and “Jesus at the Center / All Hail King Jesus.”
