C5Alive POWER Luncheon to highlight local speakers, venues

The March C5Alive “POWER” Luncheon will be held March 14, 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Thornton Place, 2901 SW Armstrong Ave., just west of 29th & Wanamaker.  The meeting will feature Faron Barr of T & M Financial as speaker. He will talk about “Self-Management Principles.”

Barr is a Topeka businessman and Washburn grad who has a passion for helping others improve leadership abilities.

Barr is involved in Rotary Club, including the Pumpkin Run (he actually owns a pumpkin suit!) and is a member of Topeka Growth Partners. He also works with Woodland Charity and other non-profit groups to help fight disease and poverty, including a recent trip to Guatemala to provide shoes, medical care and construction help to the people there.

He is also a season ticket holder for the Kansas City Chiefs and a serious tailgating participant.

A special meal is being provided by the Thornton Place Chef.

The cost to attend the luncheon is $10 for C5Alive members and first-time guests who RSVP, and $12 at the door. Non-members and other guests pay $15. C5 luncheons are open to the public and everyone is welcome to attend, organizers said.  RSVPs and inquiries can be sent to info@C5Alive.org.

C5Alive “POWER” luncheons are held on the second Thursday of each month, and meals are catered by Aboud’s/Engroff’s or other fine caterers.

Thomas Underwood, Executive Director of NOTO Arts District, will be the featured speaker at the April 11 luncheon, which will be
