A local Christian school administrator has been arrested for lewd acts against children, including fondling.

Dennis Regal Creason of Bonner Springs, was taken into custody late Thursday. He is the co-founder and administrator of Oaklawn Christian School in Shawnee, Kan.

The charges in Johnson County District Court include three counts of aggravated indecent liberties –lewd touching of a chid under the age of 14. The incidents occurred between January 2015 and August 2018.

Creason, 48, faces a harsh mandatory sentence because of the age of the alleged victims.

Police records state that the children are ages 6, 8 and 10 years old.

Oaklawn was founded in 2007 and is a relatively small and unknown school in the area. It serves pre-K through sixth grade students, with a focus on art, music, and nature-based programs.

In a Yahoo review, the father of a former student posted: “We were initially very impressed with Dennis and the philosophy of the school. I do think that they love kids and desire to serve them well. Communication and details are not their strengths here. After sending them info on our son’s heart condition and pacemaker, they failed to share with the staff. Some of the staff were great – some were very disengaged.  In the end, we felt that our son was at risk of harm here and we removed him. Lots of potential here, but the school has a long way to go.”

As of today, the school’s website has been taken down though its Facebook page remains active.

Bond for Creason is set at $1 million and he is expected to appear in court today.
