Healing House KC has announced its participation in the Kansas City Coalition’s Family Recovery Day, an event dedicated to supporting and celebrating families navigating the recovery journey. The event, scheduled for September 21, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Concourse Park, 200 N. Benton Avenue, KCMO, aims to emphasize the essential role of family involvement in recovery while providing resources and inspiration for attendees.

Organized in partnership with over 35 organizations affiliated with the Kansas City Recovery Coalition, Family Recovery Day will feature a variety of activities designed to empower and support families.

The event will include access to counseling services, recovery programs, and support groups, alongside family-friendly activities such as games and face painting. Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear personal stories of recovery and resilience, designed to inspire hope and encourage community engagement.

“Family Recovery Day is an opportunity to strengthen family bonds and provide the support and resources that families need to thrive together,” said Bobbi Jo Reed, CEO and founder of Healing House KC. Reed emphasized that recovery is a journey that families undertake together, and this event seeks to facilitate that by offering both fun and practical resources.

Participants will enjoy live music and complimentary food and beverages throughout the day. The event is open to the public and welcomes individuals in recovery, as well as those supporting loved ones in their recovery process.
