Kansas Capitol building reopens to public & tours for first time since March 2020

Another sign of things getting back to normal is the reopening of the Kansas Capitol building in Topeka. The historic building, with its stunning murals and dome, is now open to visitors and tours for the first time in over 15 months.

“We are excited to be able to share the state’s rich history with our visitors this summer,” said Jennie Chinn, executive director of Kansas Historical Society. “Kansans can explore the history of public health, journalism, railroads, Civil War and trails, to name a few. We are reminded every day just how important Kansas history continues to be through guiding our present and future.”
