The Tabernacle Experience is coming to the Kansas City area. Over 100,000 guests have participated in the life-size, interactive Tabernacle of Moses around the nation.  First Baptist Church of Platte City is hosting the Kansas City stop of the tour.

From Friday, Sept. 26, thru Sunday, Oct. 5, a full replica of the Tabernacle of Moses will be open to guests at 17385 Hwy 371 in Platte City.

This fully interactive exhibit has seven stations that lead visitors through an Old Testament journey that is formative as well as informative.

First Baptist Pastor Rusty Savage told Metro Voice the experience is important to Christians. “The mission of our church is to connect people with God, each other and the needy world. The tabernacle of the wilderness was the access point for God to dwell with His people and for them to draw near to Him. It was a place to meet God and be a community of faith. We’re hoping to introduce people to that ‘abiding presence’ of God and offer them a place to come together as worship peers. Each of the elements of the tabernacle point to the reality that Jesus is the one who provides us access to the presence of God..”

Visitors are welcome Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Tabernacle Experience is free but a $5 contribution is suggested. Groups can register online to reserve a block of time to ensure that the group experiences it together and individual or family walk-ups are also welcome.

This replica of the portable sanctuary remains true to the precise size and layout of the original Tabernacle constructed by Moses. Visitors will take a self-guided narrated tour, learning at each station about the tent that housed the Ark of the Covenant over 3,000 years ago, as described in great detail in the book of Exodus.

“The Tabernacle Experience was a tremendously moving spiritual experience that impacted many lives. You will not be disappointed,” stated pastor Chuck Smith, senior pastor of Costa Mesa Calvary Chapel.

Kay Warren, wife of senior pastor Rick Warren of Saddlebak Church, has toured it and was also moved by the experience, ‘The Truths of the Tabernacle are life-changing…participating in the life-size replica is an opportunity not to be missed by anyone who desires a tangible, multi-sensory experience of worship and communion with God.”

Online reservations may be made at tabernacleexperience.com and information may also be obtained by calling the church at 816-858-2018. For more information visit www.TabernacleExperience.com.
