Rep. Cori Bush trailing badly to pro-Israel Democrat Wesley Bell

Missouri Rep. Cori Bush, who represents St. Louis, may lose her Congressional seat if a recent poll holds.

The controversial political figure, who is under a federal criminal investigation, has been roundly condemned over repeated antisemitic remarks and what many consider outlandish behavior, is trailing her challenger by 23 points according to a new poll.

Her challenger, St. Louis attorney Wesley Bell is receiving support from both Republicans in the Democrat stronghold. The poll, conducted by McLaughlin & Associates, shows moderate Democrat Bell ahead 56% to Bush’s 33%.

The survey was of likely Democrat voters and also found Bell was viewed favorably by 70% of respondents to Bush’s 50%.

Cori Bush has wasted her time in Congress to focus on her own fame in the Squad — while her constituents suffer,” Marc Little, a CCA Action Fund spokesman, told the New York Post.

“This poll proves St. Louis wants a representative who will champion our community and its prosperity and safety and who will defend America — not a Cori Bush who wants to tear it all down,” he added.

Bell’s lead is significantly outside the poll’s margin of error. If the lead holds, Bush may become the second so-called squad member to lose a seat in Congress after fellow squad member Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) lost his June primary.

Bell continues to portray himself as an alternative to the radical leftist policies espoused by Bush. He is pro-Israel and has earned the endorsement of AIPAC PAC, a newly formed pac that has seen almost universal success in supporting pro-Israel candidates.

Bell touts himself as a “responsible gun owner” and opposed reductions in police funding. His website states he has joined others and “worked tirelessly with our partners within 55 police departments to improve public safety.”

Concerning Israel, he states that Israel is “the only democracy and strongest American ally in the Middle East—was attacked by terrorists on October 7. I believe Israel has the right to defend itself and go after those who perpetrated those attacks. In Congress, I’ll fight to make sure the United States remains Israel’s strongest ally.”

Bell is not a conservative, though, and says he’s committed to codifying Roe. His liberal stance on issues is not a concern to those Republicans who back him, acknowledging that anyone is better than Bush in a district that will likely never elect a Republican.
