Women athletes should refuse to compete against biological men, actor and comedian Rob Schneider says, in reference to transgender men in women’s sports.
“This … has to stop,” he tweeted in response to a post about Payton McNabb, a high school volleyball player who urged North Carolina lawmakers to pass a bill banning transgender athletes born males from playing on female sports teams. McNabb’s advocacy came after she suffered a concussion and a serious neck injury after a transgender competitor spiked a ball at her.
“If the parents, coaches and ‘women’ athletes ALL REFUSE TO PLAY against these MEN … It ALL STOPS!” Schneider added in his tweet to his 1.5 million followers.
McNabb’s story was shared by NCAA athlete and activist Riley Gaines, who urged her followers to watch her testimony, adding, “I was honored to stand alongside her in N.C. to continue the fight to protect women’s sports.”

In her testimony to politicians, McNabb said she has sustained long-term injuries that now require accommodations as a result of the incident. “Injuries I still suffer from today include impaired vision, partial paralysis on my right side, constant headaches, as well as anxiety and depression,” she said. “My ability to learn, retain, comprehend has also been impaired, and I require accommodations at school for testing because of this.”
Schneider, a former “Saturday Night Live” cast member, has been outspoken over the years about his political views. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he criticized California Gov. Gavin Newsom, calling him an “emperor,” referring to the unilateral restrictions he put in place in 2020. Then, in November of last year, he urged those who were fleeing California to not bring their voting habits with them to their new homes.
“YOU moved out of California for a reason,” he wrote “Crime, out of control homelessness, taxes, your children being indoctrinated in schools, individual rights being trampled, etc.! So please don’t vote the same way to replicate the same … you just left!”
The 59-year-old Schneider talked about leaving California and moving to Arizona last fall, saying he fled The Golden State for a “slightly freer” state.
