During a press conference outside of Penn Station in New York City today, Mayoral Candidate Curtis Sliwa found himself counseling and comforting a homeless man. Sliwa had joined merchants, workers, and Guardian Angels to stress the urgent need for security and safety at the station.

During the event, an emotionally disturbed person spontaneously stood in front of the camera, crying and desperately pleading for help.  Sliwa, who is running for Mayor and the Angels offered assistance. Sliwa was one of founders of the Guardian Angels.

“This poor soul is having an emotional breakdown,” Sliwa said.  “Where is the Thrive money, 1.25 billion dollars, spent over the past five years?  There is nothing to show for it,” he continued, questioning the policies of Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Sliwa, Republidan candidate, continued to say that despite all the taxpayer money spent by Thrive, there is no case showing that a homeless or emotionally disturbed person has been helped and rehabilitated.
