Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee has been nominated by President-elect Donald Trump to serve as the next U.S. ambassador to Israel, marking a historic moment as the first evangelical Christian nominated to this prestigious diplomatic position.

The Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) will broadcast a final tribute show this Saturday, January 11, concluding seven successful years of what has become America’s favorite “front porch” talk show. The program has consistently delivered an insightful blend of patriotic, God-honoring values and family-friendly entertainment. Since its 2017 debut, “Huckabee” has welcomed national and international newsmakers, iconic celebrities, music legends, and inspiring everyday heroes, while offering Huckabee’s distinctive perspective on Washington affairs.

“‘Huckabee’ has been an honor and a privilege to host, and I am deeply thankful for the remarkable guests, the loyal viewers and the incredible team at TBN who made these past seven years so memorable,” Huckabee said. “It’s been a true joy to bring important conversations that celebrate the heart and soul of America, and I’m so grateful to everyone who has been a part of this incredible journey.”

The 90-minute tribute episode will feature high-profile surprise guests and memorable faces from throughout the years, including Kid Rock, Babylon Bee, Rep. James Comer, Gary Sinise, Rich Little, Scott Hamilton, the Spinners and more.

TBN President Matt Crouch praised Huckabee’s new role, noting, “We are losing an amazing TV host but gaining what will be a great ambassador to Israel. Congratulations Gov. Huckabee on being the first evangelical Christian in history to be nominated as ambassador to Israel.”

From Governor to Ambassador to Israel

Huckabee’s political career spans decades, including serving as the 44th governor of Arkansas from 1996 to 2007. He sought the Republican Party presidential nomination in both 2008 and 2016, winning the Iowa caucus in 2008 and finishing second in delegate count behind John McCain. His experience as an ordained Baptist minister and longstanding support for Israel have been cited as key qualifications for his new diplomatic role.

His nomination to the role has been met with widespread approval in Israel.
