Maranatha Christian Academy – Celebrating 50 Years

Maranatha Christian Academy is celebrating 50 years of providing high-quality, Christ-centered education to students in the Kansas City area. MCA’s new K-12 campus is conveniently located in western Johnson County with state-of-the-art classrooms and athletic facilities. MCA is a proud member of the Kansas State High School Activities Association, which allows students to participate in and compete on a state level in academic, athletic and fine arts competitions. Speaking of fine arts, Maranatha has a highly regarded choir, band and music theater department, with students regularly receiving top scores at state competitions.

Academically, students’ test scores are consistently above the state and national averages which has led to millions of dollars in scholarships being awarded to Maranatha graduates. MCA partners with MidAmerica Nazarene University and Johnson County Community College to offer dual credit classes to the High School students.

Maranatha Christian Academy seeks to provide a well-rounded educational experience for their students, which is why providing excellent extracurriculars has always been a top priority of the school. Maranatha also has a vibrant and highly regarded Fine Arts department. The annual all-school musical is always impressive, they will be performing the musical Seussical during the 2023-2024 school year. The Band and Choir have a high level of engagement within the student body, with many alumni having gone onto participate in music at a collegiate level.

There is always something exciting happening, like weekly chapel services led by area pastors, after-school soccer games, elementary art shows and you might even see the marching band practicing on the football field.
