Sedalia Bible Academy is launching a new ministry to serve and coach men in central Missouri.  It will be in the form of semi-annual intensive Bible studies.  The first such event will be an all-day concentrated Bible study on Saturday, March 2, at Boonslick Regional Library, 219 West Third St., in Sedalia.

The focus of the first Bible study will be the New Testament book of Galatians. The interactive study will consist of six sessions from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. , with an hour’s lunch break.  Lunch will be at a local eatery, each man paying for himself.

Admission to the Bible study is free, but limited to the first 45 men who register, because of limited seating. The minimum age for admission is 18. To register, send email to p.c.thomas@charter.net or leave a clear voice mail at 660-826-9988.

Only those who receive a confirmation email or phone call will be considered registered.  Unregistered men can attend if seats are available.  Those who intend to attend the Bible study are asked to read, before March 2,  all six chapters of Galatians and come prepared for deep thinking through the main themes in this letter that Apostle Paul wrote to correct a serious error.

The guest instructor for the event will be Mike Attwood, a native of Great Britain, now a resident of Republic, Mo. Before going into full time gospel ministry, Attwood worked in personnel administration in the electricity generation industry in England.  “I heard the gospel through a colleague at work, and was challenged to read the Bible,” he said.  “Through this process I saw myself as a sinner needing a Savior.  I was converted in my bedroom on June 16, 1981.”

Attwood’s ministry has included serving with New Tribes Mission for five years, teaching in a missionary training institute, and serving a short term in the Philippines.  He and his wife Ann Marie (from Ireland) served as missionaries in Ireland for eight years.  He has done preaching and evangelistic ministry in Canada, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Russia, Kenya, Norway, Germany, and the Bahamas.

The Attwoods’ five children live in Europe, and their five grandchildren live in Norway.  The Attwoods fellowship with Christians who meet at Southeast Bible Chapel in Springfield.

Sedalia Bible Academy was founded in 2009 as a non-denominational community service offering free interactive Bible studies for men and women.  SBA sessions are held from 7 to 8:15 p.m. on Thursdays at Boonslick Library.  SBA’s motto is “Lifelong Learning for Here and the Hereafter.”
