The Annual Life Chain takes place across the nation on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 2. It will include over 100 towns and cities across Kansas and Missouri. Some of the largest will be in the Kansas City, St. Louis, Overland Park, Wichita and Topeka metro areas. Details and cities are listed below. For locations outside of Missouri and Kansas click HERE.
Over the last three decades, the Life Chain event has developed into a positive, respectful, peaceful, and prayerful public witness of tens-of-thousands of Americans standing in honor of 60 million lives lost to abortion. The event includes prayer for our nation, for people in crisis situations and for an end to abortion.
This year will also be an acknowledgment of the great progress in pro-life legislation across the country as well as the Dobbs decision which sent back to states, the power to regulate abortion and effectively overturned Roe v. Wade.
Organizers say if you normally don’t take any other pro-life action throughout the entire year, this is the one activity in which you can easily participate.
Signs provided at each location proclaim “Adoption the Loving Option,” “Jesus Forgives & Heals,” “Lord, Forgive Us and Our Nation,” “El Aborto Mata Niños,” “Life – the first Inalienable Right,” “Pray to End Abortion” and “Pregnant? Need Help? 1-800-712-HELP.”
You can join other people who hold pro-life views by holding these signs, while praying, singing, and giving a friendly wave at passing cars. Many pregnant young women driving by see the signs and choose life for their babies.
If your town doesn’t have a Life Chain, please consider organizing it. You can call the national Life Chain organization at 800-928-5433.
The list below includes Kansas and Missouri towns hosting events with the Kansas City metro area listed first. You are encouraged to call the numbers listed to ensure plans have not changed and to get rain-out information.
If you live in another state you can visit Life Chain to find cities near you.
