Actor Jonathan Roumie plays the role of Jesus on “The Chosen,” while Dennis Quaid will play the part of former President Ronald Reagan in an upcoming movie. Pastor Greg Laurie of Harvest Fellowship had an interesting question: What would the two men talk about if they met?

“I was with Dennis Quaid and @JonathanRoumie recently,” Laurie wrote on social media. ” ”Since Dennis has a film coming out at the end of this month titled `Reagan,’ where he plays the title role of the 40th president of the United States, and Jonathan plays the role of Jesus so powerfully in `The Chosen,’ I had an idea. What if Ronald Reagan met Jesus? What would he say? What would Jesus say? It’s all meant in fun.”

Quaid replied in character as Reagan: “I was wondering if you could help me out with the Contras down in Central America? And if you could talk to the Russians, I’d appreciate that, too.”

“You’re asking for a lot,” Roumie replied in the voice he uses for Jesus. “You want a few little things switched around just to make it easier for you? Let me see what I can do.”

The biopic titled “Reagan” is scheduled to release in theaters on August 30. Portraying Ronald Reagan was an enormous challenge, Quaid said.

“I think what’s going to appeal to the audience is you’re getting the whole story,” he said. “I’ve always been told bits and pieces of the stories from Reagan’s life. This movie puts the whole story together. Reagan was my favorite president personally, and he was such a recognizable figure around the world, sort of like Muhammed Ali. He was the great communicator and all that. I wanted to really kind of get to the core of who he was as a person.”

Quaid will star alongside Penelope Ann Miller as Nancy Reagan; Mena Suvari as Reagan’s first wife Jane Wyman; Lesley-Anne Down as Margaret Thatcher; David Henrie as teenage Reagan; Kevin Dillon as Jack Warner; and Jon Voight as KGB agent Viktor Petrovich.
