Today’s News Briefs include Cori Bush losing primary, Hindus slaughtered in Bangladesh; Harley Davidson customers quit company; Israel vows to kill new Hamas leader.

Missouri Squad member Bush loses Congressional primary

Missouri’s own squad member, Democrat Congresswoman Cori Bush, lost her primary Tuesday. St. Louis prosecutor Wesley Bell, a pro-Israel challenger who received support even from Republicans in the solidly Democrat district, won 51 to 46 percent in late-night projections. Bush came to prominence as an organizer in the marxist Black Lives Matter movement, one of the most antisemitic Democrats in the House and is also being investigated by the justice department, House ethics committee and Federal Elections Commission for her campaign spending. Bush is the second squad member to lose in as many months.

Harley Davidson faces backlash over “woke” policies

The iconic motorcycle brand Harley Davidson is facing backlash from customers over what customers see as a sharp turn towards the radical left.  Among the wishlist items as noted by Starbuck: sending White men to White male-only diversity training; supporting legislation that “would allow men into girls’ bathrooms, sports and locker rooms”; and “an all-ages pride event that featured a ‘rage room’ next to ‘draq queen story time.'” Harley riders raised warning flags about the company after changes made by German-born CEO Jochen Zeitz took over during the COVID pandemic in May 2020. “It’s branding suicide,” Vinny Terranova, the owner of Pappy’s Vintage Cycles in Sturgis, South Dakota, told Fox News Digital this week. “A lot of bikers are switching over to Indian,” he said. “They killed Harley. It breaks my heart.” Some long-time Harley riders say they’re leaving the brand and purchasing Indian-made bikes instead.

Israel vows to kill new Hamas leader

Israel has vowed to kill Yahya Sinwar after he was announced the new leader of Hamas, The Independent reports. Hamas on Tuesday named terrorist Sinwar, masterminded the Oct. 7 attacks in Israel, in a doubling down on continuing confrontation with the Jewish people. Sinwar, a secretive figure controlled by Iran, was also responsible for turning Gaza into a military state with smuggled weapons across the Egyptian border. Israel is currently under fire on 7 fronts as it continues to wage war against Hamas for the Oct. 7 invasion and slaughter of 1200 Israelis and others. At a press conference about Israel’s recent military victories, Israeli military spokesperson Daniel Hagari vowed “there is only one place for Yahya Sinwar,” pointing to other Hamas figures already killed by Israel.

Bangladesh Muslim protesters target Hindus

Lost in most coverage of last week’s protests that toppled the government in Bangladesh is violence targeting the Hindu minority.  Hundreds of people are dead but social media posts indicate it could be much worse. The country’s Hindu minority population is being targeted by the Muslim majority with graphic posts showing entire Hindu families being dragged from their homes and murdered. So widespread is the violence against Hindus that most are sheltering in place as violence continues even after the former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina stepped down and fled the country. The  New York Times belatedly reported on the violence Wednesday. “Prionthi Chatterjee, a Hindu student in Dhaka, the capital, said Muslims attacked her family at their home in the southern Bagerhat region, killing her father and leaving her mother with head injuries,” the Times reports.
