Senator shares encouraging scripture to calm virus fears

Senator Josh Hawley, R-Mo., is using his daily Twitter messages to share scripture as well as updates on the virus threat the world faces. Earlier this week, he tweeted Joshua 1:9: “Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

As Hawley explained, “I have been posting encouraging Bible messages on Twitter as a daily reminder that we Americans will get through this together. We will weather this storm.

As the Senate continues its work to take on COVID-19, it is essential to remember that this is a time to stick together and do what makes sense to prevent community spread.”

Hawley also provided these tips to help protect friends and family from the spread of this

virus:

“It’s also important to be a good neighbor and work as a community during this time,” he said. “Just because we are asked to keep our social distance from one another doesn’t mean we must feel isolated. Exchanging phone numbers with your neighbors, if you don’t already have them, and keeping in contact with each other via phone or text are great ways to help your community and remember that we are all in this together.

Senator Hawley was attacked for his twitter posts concerning prayer and the virus.
