The Tri-County Nursing Home in Vandalia has been saved from closure by the Baptist Homes of Missouri.

Baptist Homes & Healthcare Ministries has taken over two Missouri nursing and long-term care facilities, one of which was ready to close.

Now coming under the Baptist Homes umbrella of facilities is Tri-County Nursing Home in Vandalia, Mo. and the Lawrence County Manor in Mt. Vernon. The takeover saved the Tri-County facility from closure after a difficult two years under the pandemic.

Baptist Homes has been providing care for the aged for 108 years and the acquisitions brings the number of Missouri locations to five. There are over 299 residents currently living in the facilities.

The organization said in a press release “prayerful consideration and approval” was made by the Executive Board of the Baptist Homes & Healthcare Ministries Board of Trustees and the Board of Directors of the Tri-County Nursing Home District.

Legal transfer of all management activities took place September 8.

The agreement empowers BHHM to operate and manage Tri-county Nursing Home as a part of the BHHM family. It also provides options for purchase or renewal of the six-month management agreement.

“As a sanctity of life ministry Baptist Homes & Healthcare Ministries seeks to minister to Senior adults from a Biblical worldview as we seek to set the standard for Christ-like care for the aging,” stated
President & CEO, Dr. Rodney Harrison.

Harrison says the home at Vandalia represents an opportunity for BHHM to partner with the greater Vandalia community, “Together, we all seek to preserve this vital community asset which will continue to serve the aging and their families of the Tri-county area.”

Missouri Baptist Homes’ other locations are in Ashland, Arcadia, Chillicothe, Independence and Ozark.
