CNN asserts a baby’s biological sex can’t be determined at birth

CNN is being mocked for an actual news report that asserted a baby’s sex cannot be determined at birth.

The odd statement came in a story that was critical of South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem (R) who signed two executive orders banning males from competing in female sports.

“It’s not possible to know a person’s gender identity at birth, and there is no consensus criteria for assigning sex at birth,” CNN asserted in its news piece, contrary to biological science.

CNN hit back with a tweet that, to many, made even less sense.

“Though the two executive orders signed by Noem do not explicitly mention transgender athletes, they reference the supposed harms of the participation of ‘males’ in women’s athletics – an echo of the transphobic claim, cited in other similar legislative initiatives, that transgender women are not women,” CNN tweeted Tuesday. “The orders also reference ‘biological sex’ – a disputed term that refers to the sex as listed on students’ original birth certificates.”

Shortly after CNN used its reporting to assert that a person’s sex is fluid, a wave of criticism began on social media. When the statement in the article was brought to the attention of conservatives and Christians on Twitter, a flood of criticism poured in, maintaining the simple and indisputable fact that sex is clearly determined and evident at birth.

Denny Burk, who serves as the director of the Center for Gospel and Culture at Boyce College in Louisville, Kentucky, remarked that CNN’s radical-left promotion of the LGBTQ agenda is typical.

“If you act like a propaganda outlet, people are going to treat you like a propaganda outlet,” Burk tweeted. “This is blatant @CNN.”

Author Allie Beth Stuckey commented on the Left’s lunacy of promoting a make-believe ideology that a person’s sex is not something that can be determined at birth.

“We live in a literal clown world where the elites pretend not to know what it means to be a man or a woman,” Stucky tweeted. “The only way to maintain your sanity is to reject this absolute nonsense everywhere you see it.”

Conservative radio host Erick Erickson tweeted that he was amazed at CNN’s audacity, commenting, “This is CNN – unbelievable.”

A conservative news outlet, National Review, chimed in on the network’s biology claims saying, “CNN declares, Not possible to know person’s gender identity at birth,” National Review posted on Twitter. “Wonder if CNN would help me out and announce it’s ‘Not possible to know a person’s income on Tax Day.’ To pretend that, we as a society, are incapable of knowing whether a child is a male or female at birth is lunacy.”

A similar response was posted by David E. Prince of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

“Hey @CNN, you wrote, ‘It’s not possible to know a person’s gender at birth, and there is no consensus criteria for assigning sex at birth,'” Prince tweeted. “Call me, and I’ll explain the criteria to you in 15 seconds.”
