Take Topeka Metro to vote on Election Day, Nov. 3rd

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2020 is Election Day. Topeka has routes that go by many of Topeka’s polling locations within the city limits. Topeka Metro fares have been waived for the month of November, so rides to balloting places are free.

“We know that transportation is often a barrier to those who want to vote in person at their poll location,” said Bob Nugent, Topeka Metro general manager. “Topeka Metro is an option to help others fulfill their civic duty, and the rides are free.”

Where, when and how should you vote? Deadlines loom for Shawnee and Douglas County

A reminder that passengers must wear a mask on the bus and unless a passenger requires the ramp or have the bus kneel, passengers will need to board at the rear door of the fixed route buses. Lift rides may be arranged by calling 783-7000, and reservations must be made by 5:00 PM the day prior to the requested date of travel. Calls for the Lift are accepted daily from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Topeka Metro has a route map of our transit system with polling locations available here. If you need to look up your polling location, you can access it on the Kansas Secretary of State VoterView website here.

For route information, call 783-7000.

Can You Help?

With events and churches cancelling services, the advertising that the Topeka Metro Voice relies on for support is drying up. For 14 years, Topeka Metro Voice has been a leader in the faith-based community. We have historically relied on advertising to fund the mission of our publication and sharing the Good News, as well as supporting local small businesses and community events. We are now seeking partners who want to support our publication and our mission of faith-based journalism and supporting the community and local small businesses.

Do you like what you read here? Help us continue our mission by supporting the Topeka Metro Voice in print and online for as little as $5. Every contribution counts, big or small. We sincerely thank you for your continued support and encouragement in these critical times.
