Great Overland Station to hold Afternoons of Praise & Thanksgiving, Veterans Ceremony, Harvey House Luncheon

Great Overland Station in Topeka will hold Afternoons of Praise and Thanksgiving called “To God Be the Glory” on November 3, 17 & 24 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. The public is invited to “Come as you are!” Admission is free.

The Station will also hold a Veterans Day Ceremony November 11 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. The featured speaker will be SMSGT Troy Abel. This event will be held indoors in the Main Waiting Room. Cookies, coffee, and water will be served. Admission is free

Coming up next month, the Station will host another in a series of Harvey House Luncheons. These uniquely elegant luncheons are served by their very own costumed Harvey Girls, who enjoy sharing their knowledge of Fred Harvey and the historical Harvey Houses. Following lunch, a docent in authentic Santa Fe ticket agent uniform gives a guided tour of the Great Overland Station.

Harvey House Luncheons are typically served to private groups of 25 people or more – however, four times per year the Station offers a rare opportunity for small groups, individuals and couples to experience a Harvey House Luncheon.

The cost is $23.50 per person (includes meal and tour). Reservations are required, and there is a limited number of seats available. The deadline to sign up is November 26.

For more information about these events call 785-232-5533.
