Jesus Return Odds in 2025 Surpass White Sox Chances

Although Jesus said that no one knows the hour in which he will return, the odds are 4 percent that it will be in 2025, according to the online prediction platform Polymarket. This probability is based on interpretations of biblical timelines and has attracted $44,000 in bets.

The decentralized prediction platform predicted Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential victory. It has listed a live market asking users to bet on the likelihood of Jesus’ return by December 31 Although the odds recently were near zero, they jumped to 4 percent on Sunday. “BREAKING: JESUS CHRIST RETURNING THIS YEAR? 4 percent chance. The odds have risen,” the company posted on X.

Polymarket also posted the fine print: “This market will resolve to ‘Yes’ if The Second Coming of Jesus Christ occurs by December 31, 2025, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to ‘No.’ The resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible sources.”

Jesus return riles up social media

Social media reaction has been mixed. Some users joked about the market, such as ”If Jesus did return, would anyone even believe him?” Others expressed discomfort at what they saw as a trivialization of one of Christianity’s most central beliefs.

Although the odds are slim, they still are better than the 1 percent chance it placed on the Chicago White Sox winning the World Series this year. “It’s really hard to have two historically bad seasons in a row,” Randy Blum, baseball oddsmaker for the Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas, told ESPN, “Don’t get me wrong, though, there’s nothing to love about the White Sox this year.”

Polymarket is an American cryptocurrency-based prediction market based in New York City. Launched in 2020, it offers a platform where investors can place bets on various future events, including economic indicators, weather patterns and awards, as well as political and legislative outcomes. Participants can deposit cryptocurrency and trade shares that represent the likelihood of specific outcomes occurring in the future.

Regardless, Jesus will one day appear over the skies of the Windy City, and the entire world.
