St. Michael the Archangel Catholic High School is Creating Disciples

St. Michael the Archangel Catholic High School (SMA) calls young men and women through a relationship with Jesus Christ, to embrace their God-given gifts in order to KNOW TRUTH, LOVE GOD, and SERVE OTHERS as His brave and humble disciples.
SMA is a 21st-century co-educational high school rooted in the traditions and values of the Catholic faith. SMA students have the opportunity to grow closer to the person of Jesus through prayer, the sacraments, and community. In addition to a vibrant faith community, SMA offers a wide range of courses, from advance placement/dual college credit courses to theology to personal finance. Upperclassmen have a variety of options for off-site learning through local career and technical centers to expand their knowledge beyond the classroom.
SMA is proud to be home to the S.M.I.L.E. Zone (St. Michael Inclusive Learning Environment), a unique special education program for students at SMA. Our S.M.I.L.E. Zone teachers supervise Student Education Plans (ESP) for each student along with implementing Missouri Show-Me Standards and appropriate goals and benchmarks. Peer Mentors drive the S.M.I.L.E. program by pairing with students who need extra assistance in the classroom. This allows SMILE Zone students to receive individual attention and flexible curriculum when needed. Most students are fully integrated into regular classrooms, which allows them to learn alongside their peers, and many participate in our activities and sports programs, cultivating a culture of true inclusion at St. Michael.
SMA students receive an education built on the understanding that life is bigger than themselves. This idea is integrated into the school’s unique Community System, which allows each student to be recognized and valued. The Community system provides leadership opportunities and helps students connect with each other by fostering authentic relationships, forming servant leaders, and having fun while building up one another in Christ. It’s truly a place where students can discover where they belong!
