Operation Blessing, Orphan’s Promise Expand Global Child Aid

Operation Blessing and Orphan’s Promise are teaming up to serve at-risk children worldwide. By combining Operation Blessing’s extensive resources in hunger relief, medical care and disaster response with Orphan’s Promise’s focused expertise in more than 70 countries, the collaboration is poised to create a more profound and lasting impact.

The work of Orphan’s Promise is powerfully illustrated through the lives it already has transformed, children who found hope through the steadfast support of its donors. In the sprawling Madurai slums outside Nairobi, Brian’s world was once small and harsh. Extreme poverty had pushed the young boy onto the streets to collect scrap metal in a desperate attempt to earn enough for a little food. His future looked bleak. His mother, an orphan herself and struggling without a consistent income, felt a crushing desperation watching her children scour the streets, sometimes locked out of their home after being unable to pay the $20 rent. She simply didn’t know how to care for her little ones. At Our Home children’s facility, a partner of Orphan’s Promise, Brian discovered a sanctuary of nutritious meals, vital counseling and the stability of a caring Christian environment.

In Guatemala, another life was radically altered. Franzi was just 6 when his father’s abandonment left his family in dire straits. His life changed in 2019. Abandoned by his father and living in a tiny house without electricity, Franzi and his family subsisted on a meager diet of potatoes with salt and water, a reality funded by his mother’s grueling $2-a-day fieldwork. He yearned for more. The support of donors through Orphan’s Promise was the critical intervention that helped Franzi complete his schooling and even earn a college degree. Today, he’s a project manager for World Vision, a testament to the power of God’s provision

The goal of the partnership is to reach more of the estimated 143 million orphaned and at-risk children globally, weaving together discipleship and education with practical, lifesaving aid to break generational cycles of poverty.
