Alliance for Life Serves the Pregnancy Help Movement
Alliance for Life (AFL), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, based in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, is a coalition of pregnancy help organizations — including pregnancy resource centers, maternity homes, adoption agencies, and abortion recovery ministries — operating across Missouri and beyond.
Created in 2001 to unify the pregnancy help movement across the state, increasing strength, collaboration, and support among organizations working to serve women, families, and unborn children. Comprised of 100 affiliate locations, AFL affiliation allows these organizations to connect, share resources, learn best practices, and collectively advocate for a culture of life.
AFL’s vision is to unify & champion LIFE organizations, bringing awareness and support for the work they do. The mission is to “save and change lives by equipping people, empowering organizations, and engaging communities toward a culture of LIFE where abortion becomes unthinkable.
A culture of life means not only protecting unborn children, but also caring for vulnerable women, men, and families — bringing faith, hope, and love into situations of unexpected pregnancy. Many individuals facing unplanned pregnancies need more than medical help — they need emotional support, material resources, hope, and options. AFL-affiliates provide these crucial services.
Because legislative and social environments change, having a unified voice helps protect and expand access to life-affirming services. Collaboration increases efficiency and impact through sharing resources, training, data, and strategies. Coordinated services through the A2A program reach over a thousand clients per year with tangible needs. Training, networking, and development help life organizations become stronger, more sustainable, and better equipped. Advocacy at the state level raises awareness of the good work done by the affiliates. Data collected and shared helps people understand the scale and nature of the need.
By bringing these organizations under a shared mission — equipping, empowering, engaging — AFL magnifies the capacity for compassion, practical help, and life-affirming change across Missouri.
