Christian Singles Over 45 Invited to Special Meet-Up in Greater Kansas City
Finding meaningful fellowship as a single Christian over 45 isn’t easy. Many believers in this stage of life report feeling isolated, even within their own church communities. “Church is for worship and guidance, which is vital, but often there aren’t extra social events for singles to connect,” says Erin Burroughs, CEO of GWIA (God’s Will In Action) and one of the event organizers. “We want to change that.”

On Saturday, July 12, Christian MeetUps invites singles ages 40 and up from across the Greater Kansas City Area to an afternoon of connection, laughter, and new beginnings. The event will take place at the Hilton Garden Inn, 19677 E. Jackson Dr in Independence, MO. It will feature a buffet dinner, live entertainment, one-on-one introduction games, and generous gift giveaways. Sponsors say they promise a warm, welcoming atmosphere for Christian singles ready to meet others who share their faith.
Why focus on singles over 45? According to Burroughs, the need is urgent. “Loneliness and isolation can be devastating, especially after the loss of a longtime spouse. I’ve seen firsthand how difficult it is for people to make new Christian friends and find social support,” she explains. “Scientific research even links social isolation to increased risk of conditions like Alzheimer’s and dementia. We believe this ministry can help Christians nurture one another, as God intended.”
The team hopes this is just the beginning. “If this first event goes well, we’ll expand across Missouri, Kansas, and beyond, offering monthly, then bi-weekly, eventually weekly opportunities for Christian singles to gather and support each other,” Burroughs says. “We feel the weight of this calling as an important positive contribution in these challenging times.”
