Christian Workplace Engagement Reaches 55% in 2025: Study

While only half of U.S. workers report being extremely satisfied with their jobs, Christian-led organizations are bucking the trend. Fifty-five percent feel engaged, according to new research from Best Christian Workplaces Institute.

“This report highlights remarkable examples of what can happen when leaders listen to their teams and take intentional steps to build Flourishing WorkplacesTM,” says Jay Bransford, President and CEO of Best Christian Workplaces. “Leaders in healthy Christian-led workplaces model Christ and empower their teams to flourish, extending their impact to the world. However, many organizations still face challenges in fostering engagement and workplace health. Our 2024 data revealed that one-third of surveying organizations fell below the Healthy threshold. This underscores the ongoing need to support and equip leaders in their journey toward creating workplaces that honor God and uplift their people.”

The State of the Christian Workplace 2025 report provides insights into employee engagement and workplace health in Christian-led workplaces, based on anonymous feedback from nearly 160,000 employees across multiple sectors. The report highlights statistically valid research from Best Christian Workplaces and offers a foundation from which leaders can learn how to foster a flourishing workplace.

The timing is critical, as concerns about religious bias affect many American employees. Mental health proves paramount in 2025, with Christian organizations increasingly championing holistic wellness initiatives.

The survey evaluates eight key areas that drive workplace culture, including uplifting growth and healthy communication. As a leader in the study of employee engagement, Best Christian Workplaces has more than two decades of experience and a robust data set that includes thousands of employee voices. The size of the data set allows statistically reliable categorization by different types of organizations.

Included in the report are the following categories:
Churches
Parachurch and Missions
Rescue Missions
Family Services
Christian Schools (K-12)
Higher Education
Businesses
Other Nonprofits

Along with overall data, the State of the Christian Workplace 2025 report highlights trends over the past five years by demographics and by sector. Best Christian Workplaces’ Employee Engagement Survey is a proprietary, research-based tool for assessing workplace health.
