City Union Mission and Hy-Vee partner to fight Hunger

Starting today and running through April 1, when you stop by your local Hy-Vee store you can purchase a prepackaged bag of groceries to fight hunger for those in need. The bags are priced at just $5 to $10. FEED KC Now is a partnership between the grocery chain and City Union Mission. All proceeds stay in Kansas City.

What are the numbers?

Even with an economy that is booming, hunger remains a problem for the metro, as it does for many urban areas across the nation. In Jackson County, Mo, 122,000 individuals are considered at risk. Surprisingly, in more affluent Johnson County, Kansas,

All 20 Kansas City Metro Hy-Vee Food Stores are participating.
