LIFE IN A JAR: THE IRENA SENDLER PROJECT. March 5, 8:00 pm. White Theatre, The Jewish Community Center, 5801 W. 115th St., Overland Park, KS 66211. As a social worker, she risked her own life to rescue more the 2,500 Jewish children from the Warsaw Ghetto during the Nazi occupation of Poland in World War II. Then a group of students in rural Kansas discovered her while working on a project. They were so intrigued that, with the support of their teacher, Norma Conrad, they created Life in a Jar.
