Sole Reason Sneakers and Smiles Golf Tournament benefits local kids in need

Sole Reason’s 4th Annual Sneakers and Smiles Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, June 25th, 2022. This event benefits local kids in need. It is a 4-person scramble tournament, and it will again be held at the beautiful Cypress Ridge Golf Course, 2533 SW Urish Rd., in Topeka, Ks. This is the main fundraiser for the organization.

Jerry Hudgins started Sole Reason in Topeka in response to Pope Francis’s call for “The Year of Mercy.” It is a non-profit 501c3 company that specializes in the collection and distribution of new sneakers. The sneakers are given to local children in need in the local community.

The organization’s mission is to use the local communities’ love, compassion and generosity to provide new sneakers to school-age children in need, throughout the year. They feel that every child deserves to feel important, and this is their way of helping them experience that feeling.

There are many opportunities for sponsorships, including being a Hole Sponsor, Beverage Cart Sponsor, Breakfast Sponsor, Contest Hole Sponsor and more. Sponsors get media recognition, signage and a personal visit and photos with Jerry, Founder of Sole Reason. There are also corporate sponsorships available.

Cost to play in the tournament is $360 per team, which includes cart, food, drink tickets, and prizes. There will also be a Silent Auction, a 50/50 raffle, as well as contests on the greens.

“Get your friends together for this 4-person scramble and enjoy a fun day on the course for a great cause,” Hudgins said. To get registered for the tournament, go to www.22SoleReason.golfgenius.com.

Can You Help?

Metro Voice is fighting Big Tech, canceled events and more. For 32 years, Metro Voice has been a leader in the faith-based community. We have historically relied on advertising to fund the mission of our publication and sharing the Good News. We are now seeking donation partners who want to support our publication and our mission of faith-based journalism.

We sincerely thank you for your continued support and encouragement in these critical times. Note that we have eliminated the $1 option because PayPal began taking 52 cents of every dollar donated. They take a 33 cent fee plus a small percentage.
