Moviegoers will have more opportunities to see “The Journey: A Music Special from Andrea Bocelli” in theaters. Because of high demand, Fathom Events has extended the theatrical release through Easter Sunday.
“The excitement and anticipation for this beautiful film is a testament to the hope and joy found in `The Journey,’” TBN President Matt Crouch said. “Audiences are going to be blown away by the incredible musical performances and the stunning scenery displayed. This powerful masterpiece is ideal for Easter week.”
Beginning at the Vatican with a blessing and prayer from Pope Francis, the movie follows world-renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli and his wife Veronica as they travel 250 miles on horseback along Italy’s famed Via Francigena, an ancient road taken by pilgrims for centuries in the footsteps of the apostles and saints.
Along the way, they are joined in some of Italy’s most magnificent locations for beautiful musical performances by Bocelli and such diverse artists as Michael W. Smith, Tori Kelly, Tauren Wells, Taya, Katherine Jenkins, Clara Barbier Serrano, 2Cellos, 40 Fingers and Bocelli’s own children, Matteo and Virginia.
“`The Journey: A Musical Special from Andrea Bocelli” is an absolutely stunning production and journey to watch,” Movieguide. reports. “Andrea has an incredible voice, along with the other singers who join him. The best part is that these songs will lead viewers to worship God in reverence and enjoy his creation and his love in their lives.
“`The Journey’ is more of a fun musical performance than a movie. `The Journey” doesn’t have a specific plot or beginning, middle or end, and is nothing like a superhero comic-book movie. Instead, it contains beautiful musical performances by talented artists and spiritually uplifting conversation to inspire people’s faith.“
Tickets can be purchased online at Fathom Events or in person at theaters showing the movie. A complete list of theater locations is available at the Fathom Events website, www.fathomevents.com
