Brady kids reunite at their TV home

For the first time since the show ended, the Brady children gathered at the actual house which served as their TV home.

Six cast members of “The Brady Bunch” gathered Thursday in Los Angeles at the home that was featured in the opening and closing of the sitcom. HGTV purchased the home in the Studio City neighborhood in Los Angeles for its new series, “A Very Brady Renovation.”

Maureen McCormick, who played Marcia, along with Barry Williams, Christopher Knight, Eve Plumb, Mike Lookinland and Susan Olsen walked through the two-bedroom dwelling. The interior layout does not resemble what was featured on the show, which ran from 1969 to 1974. Interior scenes were shot in a studio.

The actors have rarely appeared together over the last 40 years, while they moved on with new careers and families. Barry Williams is now a regular performer in Branson, MO.

HERE’S THE SCENE THAT PUT “MARCIA, MARCIA, MARCIA!” INTO POP CULTURE.

The show’s other popular cast members have each passed away. Florence Henderson, who played mom Carol Brady, passed away in 2016 at age 82. Robert Reed, who played Mike Brady, died in 1992 at the young age of just 59. Housekeeper Alice, perhaps the show’s favorite character, was  played by Ann B. Davis. She was a devout Christian in real life and passed away in 2014 at the age of 88.

The show still tops polls of favorite TV shows and remains one of the most popular in reruns.

HGTV bought the 2,500-square-foot house in August, winning out over seven other bidders, including ‘N Sync member Lance Bass. It was originally listed for $1.885 million. The network paid $3.5 million, ultimately, according to “Entertainment Tonight.”

Listing agent Ernie Caswell told the Los Angeles Times that consideration was given to those who wanted to preserve the home rather than tear it down and build over.

The program is set to premiere in September 2019.
