More than 70,000 Fans Hear Forrest Frank at Rodeo

Popular Christian singer Forrest Frank even impressed local secular media after he drew more than 70,000 fans to NRG Stadium during the Houston Rodeo, using one of the city’s largest stages to deliver an unmistakable message about Jesus.

Frank’s concert sold out in less than 30 minutes, according to news reports. His appearance put him alongside a rodeo lineup that included Megan Moroney, Kelly Clarkson, Lainey Wilson, Chris Stapleton, Tim McGraw and Lizzo. He also came in with fresh momentum after winning artist of the year at the 2025 Dove Awards.

He opened the show with a declaration of faith.

“I go by the name of, it’s not important, because there’s only one name above all names that’s important, the one who is, the one who was, the one who is to come,” Frank told the crowd. “That’s the name of Jesus Christ.”

For Houston, the night carried another layer.

Frank’s grandfather, Neil Frank, spent more than two decades as a television meteorologist in the city and became a familiar figure on local broadcasts. He died last year at 94. During Forrest Frank’s concerts, videos have included appearances by his grandfather, along with footage from a Billy Graham crusade.

Frank told the crowd he saw the moment through the lens of family and faith.

“This is super special,” he said. “There’s this thing [in the Bible] about generational blessings. And my grandfather had a lot of blessings to give. And he used to speak over me and his grandchildren as a whole. He said, ‘You know, the Bible says that we are allowed to pass down blessings, and so whatever the Lord has given me, I ask that the Lord will pass it to you.’ And so now I’m here at the Houston Rodeo lifting up the name of Jesus, and I like to believe it is because of these blessings.”

The performance also drew praise from Houston Chronicle music critic Joey Guerra.

“Frank has found a sweet spot among young fans in Christian music, and it’s easy to see why,” Guerra wrote. “His songs have an earnest, up with people vibe similar to Owl City, Andy Grammer and early Maroon 5. He’s also savvy on social media. Despite a weekend of storms, Frank sent the crowd home with a forecast that was, much like his music, unapologetically sunny.”

The Facebook account of RodeoHouston stated, “It was definitely a good day with Forrest Frank 🌟.”

The 2026 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo runs through March 22.
