The annual C5Alive “Pastors Appreciation Luncheon” will be held Oct. 11 at Great Overland Station, and the featured speaker will be Jimmy Dodd, CEO and founder of PastorServe. Members and guests are invited to invite or bring their pastors. All pastors in the area are invited and welcome and will be prayed over, as well as treated to lunch and a gift bag of items donated by C5 members.
After 20 years of serving as a pastor, Dodd formalized his ministry to other pastors in 1999 by founding PastorServe. While Dodd has a deep love for the local church, PastorServe provides the perfect vehicle to follow God’s extended call to serve the broader church at large. A well-known and respected speaker, Dodd is the author of “Survive or Thrive” and “Pastors are People Too.” He is a graduate of Wheaton College and Gordon-Conwell Seminary. He has had the privilege of making more than 125 trips to train leaders in Third World countries. He and his wife Sally have five children, one daughter-in-law and two grandchildren. Two of their daughters were adopted from China.
The cost to attend the luncheons is $10 for C5Alive members and first-time guests who RSVP, and $12 at the door. Non-members and other guests pay $15. C5 luncheons are open to the public and everyone is welcome to attend, organizers said. RSVPs and inquiries can be sent to info@C5Alive.org.
Luncheon meals are high quality, usually catered by Aboud’s/Engroff’s or other fine caterers.
The next monthly C5Alive “POWER Luncheon” will be held November 8. Details of that luncheon will be announced soon.
On December 13 the C5Alive Christmas Luncheon will be held at Fairlawn Plaza, with Christmas music and games.
Lamar Hunt, Jr., will be the featured speaker at the January 10 luncheon.
