Choices for Missouri U.S. Senate, Congress, State Auditor

Here are our Metro Voice Editorial Team Recommendations for the Tuesday, November 6th Elections

U.S. SENATE

Josh Hawley is our choice and the only candidate for the Missouri U.S. Senate race endorsed by the Missouri Right to Life Political Action Committee. We strongly urge a yes vote for Hawley as some polls

Hawley

show him and incumbent Senator Claire McCaskill dead even.

Control of the U.S. Senate could come down to this race and President Trump was in Columbia on November 1 in support of Hawley’s candidacy and will be in Cape Girardeau on November 5th, the night before the election, which is the President’s final campaign stop.

Third party political action committees have been running tens of millions of dollars worth of TV ads against Hawley that have been shamelessly false and misleading. Perhaps the worst of these grossly misleading ads have been falsely accusing Hawley of blaming women for being victims of sex crimes and further falsely stating Hawley failed to act against human trafficking.

McCaskill is considered the most vulnerable democrat in the fall.

The truth is Hawley has been one of the most outspoken and pro-active Attorney Generals in the nation fighting human trafficking in all its horrific forms, especially sex trafficking and crimes that target women as victims.

In 2016, during his first 100 days in office as Missouri’s newly elected Attorney General, Hawley set up a Task Force in his office to combat human and sex trafficking.

U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

District 4, District 5 & District 6

Our recommendations for U.S. Congress are: Vicky Hartzler (District 4), Jacob Turk (District 5) and Sam Graves (District 6).

Hartzler and Graves are incumbent Republican members of the Congress and are both endorsed by the Missouri Right to Life Political Action Committee PAC and the National Right to Life PAC. Their opponents are endorsed by the National Abortion Rights Action League (NARAL).

MISSOURI AUDITOR

Saundra McDowell is our choice for Missouri Auditor. She is an Attorney who has worked in the Missouri Attorney General’s office and the office of the Missouri Secretary of State.

The current Missouri Auditor is Nicole Galloway. She was appointed by Missouri’s former Democrat Governor Jay Nixon in 2015 following the death of former Missouri Auditor, Tom Schweich, who was a Republican.

McDowell has focused her campaign on transparency and government accountability. She says she would aggressively lead the office of the Missouri State Auditor to go after waste and fraud. Galloway’s campaign has been dominated by personal attacks on McDowell.

If Amendment 1 passes on November 6, and Galloway is elected as Auditor for the first time after her appointment by Nixon in 2015, Galloway as a Democrat would appoint a State Demographer who would control the redistricting process to favor Democrats and their liberal agenda to regain House and Senate seats in which Republicans now hold pro-life supermajorities.
