Construction now under way on $50 million Eternal Wall of Answered Prayer in Great Britain
Despite an overall decline in religious faith in Great Britain, construction has begun on a $50 million monument that will pay tribute to answered prayer.
The Eternal Wall of Answered Prayer, located 100 miles north of London near Birmingham, will stand 167 feet tall in the form of a Möbius strip, a continuous loop symbolizing the everlasting nature of prayer and God’s faithfulness. Taller than the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue in Brazil, the structure will contain one million bricks, each representing a story of answered prayer that visitors can access through their smartphones.
Founder Richard Gamble said he first received a vision from God to build the monument more than 20 years ago and has spent the past decade rallying global support.
“I am delighted that we are creating a monument that will share a million stories of hope and allow people to encounter Jesus, who listens to and answers prayer,” he said. “We have faced many delays and challenges, but I believe the timing is perfect. This is the moment to build a landmark of hope, a lasting testimony to the power of prayer, preserving the Christian heritage of our nation.”
Visible to drivers, rail passengers and travelers arriving at Birmingham Airport, Eternal Wall is expected to attract around 250,000 visitors each year. The site will include landscaped green space and, in a later phase, a larger visitor center and conference facility.

So far, approximately 120,000 answered prayers have been submitted or pledged from 125 countries, with a goal of 250,000 by opening day. Stories include healing, marriage reconciliation, addiction recovery and countless other demonstrations of faith in action. Land for the site was donated by IM Properties, owned by Christian businessman Lord Edmiston, whose company also made a significant financial contribution to construction costs.
“Eternal Wall is designed to remind our nation and people everywhere of God’s goodness,” Edmiston said. “It stands as a testament to present and future generations that the creator of the universe has answered countless prayers throughout history and continues to answer them today.
“If we fail to remember the God who stood by us in our darkest hours, we risk a future absent of his divine guidance and protection. I am proud that my company has played a significant role in helping bring this vision to life.”
