Joe Biden is ignoring the votes of pro-life Democrats, Kristen Day, executive director of Democrats for Life, wrote in a “Wall Street Journal” op-ed piece this week.
“Joe Biden would be the most pro-abortion president in history,” she wrote. “Although he was once a moderate, the Catholic former vice president now describes abortion as ‘essential health care,’ caved into the abortion industry on taxpayer funding and has been proudly endorsed by NARAL Pro-Choice America, an organization that advocates for the repeal of all regulations on abortion.”
According to Day, many pro-life Democrats are also people of faith, a group that Biden also appears to be avoiding.

“The much-hyped group Believers for Biden is a bona fide flop,” she said. “It had only 26 followers on Facebook a week after being created. Its launch event on Zoom was poorly attended and featured a prayer touching on ‘reproductive justice.’ These efforts are in contrast with those of the Obama campaign, which many religious leaders praised for its earnest attempts at outreach and dialogue, especially to pro-life voters of faith.”
In an interview with CBN News, Day contrasted the current election to 2008 with Obama, stating that there is “no space made for pro-life Democrats.” Obama worked with Democrats for Life to find a middle ground to protect and help women. However, according to Day, the current Democratic party wants to “celebrate abortion, get rid of regulations, not really protect women.” She also claims that the party is more concerned about protecting the rights of abortion doctors and their profits.
Though not invited to testify at the Democratic National Convention, as they have been in previous years, the group will host a town hall meeting during the convention to voice their concerns. Day isn’t confident, however, that many Democrats will even vote this election cycle.
“Our party has lost all sense of what it means to be a big-tent party and of what it means to be diverse and inclusive,” she said.
