Shawnee Mission Park "Free Fishing Days"

Kansas’ “Free Fishing Days” – Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7, 2026

Kansas has established the first weekend of June as the annual free fishing weekend. All state fishing licenses will be waived for that weekend only. JCPRD boating and archery permits will be waived on these days in district parks where these activities are normally allowed as follows:

• Kill Creek Park, 11670 Homestead Lane, Olathe: Boating
• Heritage Park, 16050 Pflumm Road, Olathe: Boating
• Shawnee Mission Park, 7900 Renner Road, Shawnee/Lenexa: Boating & Archery
• Lexington Lake Park, 9000 Sunflower Road, DeSoto: Boating
• Streamway Parks, Various Access Points: Boating
