As millions of American schoolchildren settle back into their classrooms and their athletic programs this month, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) has announced that its key peer-to-peer autumn event, Fields of Faith, will return this fall as well.
Coaches and athletes alike have eagerly attended this annual event since its inception in 2004, and this year’s event on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 promises to be even more powerful for God’s young believers.
Fields of Faith gatherings, which are completely student-led, inspire young athletes to get back to the basics of reading God’s Word through worship and personal testimonies, all while refueling their faith in the process. Each year thousands experienced the spectacular impact of the Gospel on their familiar home fields.
“Like all of our FCA offerings, Fields of Faith helps coaches and athletes experience God’s saving grace and gain the knowledge that lives can be transformed through Jesus,” said FCA President and CEO Shane Williamson. “Since 1954, the goal of FCA has been to transform the world for Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes. More than six decades later, we are still amazed that lives are being changed every day. We pray these amazing experiences for God’s glory will continue for years to come.”
Jeff Martin, FCA’s Executive Director of Ministry Advancement elaborated, saying “Year after year, it’s an enormous blessing to see all that God has accomplished through Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Fields of Faith. Growing from just a few thousand students at a handful of fields to nearly a quarter of a million attendees annually worldwide is incredible evidence of the Lord’s power and sovereignty, as He leads us to deepen our relationship with Him, talk to Him daily, and get into His Word on a regular basis. None of this would be possible without God and the students He raises up to organize these amazing events.”

FCA’s theme for 2021 is Pursue, based on 1 Timothy 6:11: “Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness.” FCA is encouraging its members to pursue God’s use of His Word as an anchor, grounding Christians as they look to His Kingdom.
FCA’s Fields of Faith understands that an athletic field offers a neutral rallying point for a community of faith believers. Here, on their own home turf and standing side by side, student athletes invite, pray for, share with, and challenge their peers to read the Bible and follow Jesus Christ.
