Rep. Sharice Davids claims impeachment facts ‘uncontested’

Rep. Sharice Davids has indicated that she will vote for the Democrat’s articles of impeachment against President Trump.

Davids, who was elected to the Kansas 3rd Congressional District in 2018, ran as a moderate who would not be a rubber stamp for Washington Democrats. Her voting record proves otherwise.

METRO VOICE OPINION

While Davids stressed the deliberative process involved in making the decision, it comes as no surprise since she votes 97% of the time with House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff, 91% of the time with New York socialist AOC and has received money from Muslim extremist and anti-Semite, Ilhan Omar. Davids is clearly at home in the Democrats’ radical socialist wing.

Also not surprising, Davids’ reasons mirrored Democrat talking points that “The evidence uncovered by the House impeachment inquiry is overwhelming. And the facts are uncontested,”

That statement is hardly uncontested however given that, for example, Alan Dershowitz, a Democrat and Constitutional scholar, wrote in an Op Ed in The Hill that “[N]either of these proposed articles satisfy the express constitutional criteria for an impeachment, which are limited to “treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors.” Neither are high or low crimes or misdemeanors. Neither are mentioned within the Constitution.” He went on to say that a “majority of the House is simply making it up as they go along in the process, thus placing themselves not only above the law but above the Constitution.”

Even former Democratic Congressman Jim Slattery who served Kansas in the 2nd District from 1983 to 1995 was highly critical of the move. Quoted in The Kansas City Star, Slattery stated “I think it’s important for the Congress to assert its constitutional prerogatives and to assume its duty you might say, but that doesn’t mean you go on a fool’s errand. That doesn’t mean you go on a kamikaze mission, OK?”
