Summer brings more activities to NOTO Arts District

It’s the Summer of NOTO! The NOTO Arts & Entertainment District is celebrating with good art, good friends, and good fun! NOTO Art Center has announced its “Women of NOTO” exhibit inside the Morris Gallery. This special exhibit shines light on the women business owners and artists in the district, who make NOTO what it is today.

The Arts District also welcomes the following new businesses to the area:

  • Round Table Bookstore, 825 N. Kansas
  • The Glass Station, 1001 NW Central
  • Paper June, 927 N. Kansas
  • NOTO Escapes, 907 N. Kansas

A ribbon-cutting was held recently for NOTO Escapes.

NOTO Movie Nites returns this summer also, with big screen movies set up in the street. Bring your chairs & blankets! Movies will be screened on the 800 or 900 block of North Kansas Avenue. The next Movie Nite is July 27, with a showing of “Incredibles 2.”

North Topeka also hosts First Friday Art Walks like no other place in Topeka! Topeka Arts District has become an attraction to Art Lovers and History Buffs alike with beautiful scenes of art and history. The restaurants, locally owned shops, art galleries and studios have become a favorite art walk destination.

Entertainment can also be found on First Fridays, at various venues during the Art Walk up and down N. Kansas Avenue, as well as streetside vendors.

Besides the monthly First Friday Art Walk, other North Topeka businesses have begun joining in and coordinating complementary events.

Shawnee County Fair will bring many families to Topeka this month
